Part Two Real ID

Part Two  - Real ID

**This is only a example of a real ID**

Do You Still Need a Passport?Yes, but only for international travel.

A REAL ID does not replace your passport if you’re flying internationally. If you’re going on a cruise that starts in another country or visiting Europe, Canada, or Mexico, you’ll still need your passport.

What If You Don’t Have a REAL ID?

After May 7, 2025, if you don’t have a REAL ID, you’ll need to bring another TSA-accepted form of ID to the airport, such as:

  • A valid U.S. passport

  • DHS Trusted Traveler card (Global Entry, NEXUS, etc.)

  • U.S. military ID

Pro Travel Tip: Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

Appointments at DMV offices can take time, and document processing may take several weeks. Start the REAL ID process at least a few months before your next flight to avoid surprises.

Final Thoughts: Make Travel Easy with the Right ID
Understanding what a REAL ID is and what you need to bring to the airport can save you from a lot of stress at the security checkpoint. As travel picks up again, it’s more important than ever to be prepared.
