Do You Still Need a Passport?Yes, but only for international travel.
A REAL ID does not replace your passport if you’re flying internationally. If you’re going on a cruise that starts in another country or visiting Europe, Canada, or Mexico, you’ll still need your passport.After May 7, 2025, if you don’t have a REAL ID, you’ll need to bring another TSA-accepted form of ID to the airport, such as:

A valid U.S. passport

DHS Trusted Traveler card (Global Entry, NEXUS, etc.)

U.S. military ID
